A beautiful early 19th century devotional engraving of Saint Susanna, presented within an intricate original glass frame. The delicate print depicts the saint seated beneath a cherub and heavenly light, a classic composition found in early European Catholic devotional imagery.

Surrounding the engraving is a richly detailed border composed of hand-applied metallic foilwork, small paillettes, and decorative paper elements, carefully arranged against a textile backing. This style of ornamentation is characteristic of Klosterarbeit, devotional objects created in European convent workshops during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Constructed in a small glass-front shadowbox format, the piece retains its handmade character and beautiful aged patina. The layered materials and intricate decorative work give it the feel of a miniature devotional shrine, originally intended for display in a private prayer corner or small domestic altar.

Today, pieces like this are cherished for their romantic European character and handcrafted detail, making them wonderful additions to devotional collections, gallery walls, or cabinets of curiosities.
